ABOUT ME
I have always had an interest and passion for both reading and writing since a young age—and was keen to get into a career that catered to both interests. After leaving university early to kickstart a career, and better channel my energy and enthusiasm for writing, I found myself an intern role at City AM as part of their Life & Style team.

Working there taught me the basic skills involved in becoming a journalist, and I totally fell in love. Weeks of internship turned into months, and I was soon writing and proofing copy alongside the editorial team for their monthly Life & Style and Bespoke magazines, personally specialising in food, travel, property, and culture.
Keen to be trained up and get a Gold Standard Journalism Diploma, I applied for The Sun's apprenticeship scheme in 2017 after a recommendation from a colleague. I was chosen from hundreds of applicants to simultaneously work and study at The Sun, obtaining my NCTJ at News Associates in London before signing an 18-month newsroom contract. Following my contract, I went on to spend a further year on The Sun's 'Features' desk.

I spent my first year working across a variety of beats, including News, Fabulous, Showbiz, Travel, and Features – as well as a small stint alongside the editorial back bench. I've sat on almost every desk at The Sun in the past five years, and learnt from their top journalists and editors to gain an all-round newsroom knowledge.

I took time out from the newsroom in 2019 to become the Deputy Editor of Premier Christian Communications' Youth and Children's Work magazine. After six months in the role, I was promoted to Acting Editor, and single-handedly oversaw the magazine (organising a team of three staff members and over 20 freelancers) as it went from print to digital, and monthly to weekly. I learnt to magazine, commission, and plan as well as hone in my editing skills.

I returned to The Sun late in 2020, specialising in Showbiz and working alongside the Bizarre team at the Sun Online. Meanwhile, I've continued to write articles for both the Health and Travel departments in my spare time.

Outside of work, I occasionally blog on my own personal website, as well as write and showcase music on my YouTube channel and Instagram pages. I recently spent over a year working on a fitness page that gained 10,000 followers in just four months, and while this has slowed down due to my focus on work, I am still an active gym goer. I'm also a proud representative of Smiles With Grace and Compassion – two charities very close to my heart – as an administrator, organised and educational sponsor. I am an active and proud member of the LGBTQ+ community.
